Annual Policy-Related Civic Discussion Participation
Back to Citizen Scholar Yearly AchievementsThis requirement brings you into the civic life of your community, giving you the opportunity to learn about how people come together to understand a problem and shape policy to address it. You may choose to attend a public or organizational policy event (e.g. a session of the state legislature or a non-profit organization board meeting), volunteer for a political organization, party, or cause, attend a public information meeting or forum, or other similar activities. The objective here is to give you insight into the processes of policy formation within business, social service agencies, or politically/socially-oriented organizations. The experience should be recorded as an overview of the purpose of the event, the key points addressed, the process followed, and the outcomes. If you were able to contribute, you should make note of how you did so. Additionally, you should briefly convey what you learned in the experience.
