Citizen Scholar Yearly Achievements

Back to Citizen Scholars

As students work through their degree programs and their Citizen Scholar requirements, they develop their resume/curriculum vitae, tracking their newly acquired skills and capabilities; they respond to yearly questions, considering their own development and changing goals, and relating their past experiences to their future requirements and to their longer-term aims and objectives; they situate themselves in relation to local concerns and larger global issues; and they engage in policy questions pertinent in their current locale and context.

The ongoing yearly requirements support sustained attention to each area of the Citizen Scholars program goals, combining students' self-reflection about their development, accomplishments, goals, and achievements, with tangible artifacts such as the living resume, establishment of goals, and plans for development. These yearly requirements foster self-assessment and self-awareness, as well as an understanding of larger problems and issues facing our society in local and global contexts.

Students write a plan for their upcoming year, identifying their goals and objectives relating to program completion and their own development.
