Annual Reflection

Back to Citizen Scholar Yearly Achievements

These reflections guide you toward asking and responding to questions about yourself in relation to the overarching objectives of the Citizen Scholars program, and thinking about how your perceptions, perspectives, and values are changing and growing as you undertake course work and experiential learning. We include them in the "Global Leadership' category because they build from your sense of self and your relationship to others, toward a fuller capacity to consider your knowledge and role as a citizen in relation to challenges and issues facing us in an interconnected world. Each year we ask you to address your increasing understanding of the social and political relationships in which we are all, inevitably, embedded. An effective reflection articulates your self-understanding, recognizes your relationships to others, and connects to one or more of the Citizen Scholar themes and objectives. A well-written reflection connects new skills and capacities to enriched perspectives and understanding, and translates the experiences you've had to the role you hope to play in the world at large, whether locally or globally.
